Can You Put Amazon Affiliate Links on TikTok?
You can put Amazon affiliate links on TikTok, but not inside videos. Where links go, what Amazon and TikTok require, and how to disclose them.
Quick summary (TL;DR)
- You can promote Amazon affiliate links on TikTok, but the clickable spot is the website field on your profile, not the video itself.
- TikTok's help center says the profile website link needs 1,000 or more followers or a registered business account.
- Amazon treats your TikTok account as a Site you must list in Associates, and requires its disclosure statement, clear links and no incentives.
- TikTok Shop's own policy tells Shop creators not to send viewers to outside links to buy, so keep Amazon promotion and TikTok Shop content apart.
- Disclose in the video itself and with TikTok's content disclosure setting; a note in your bio alone is not enough under FTC guidance.

Yes, you can put Amazon affiliate links on TikTok, but not as clickable links inside your videos: the practical place is the website field on your profile, which TikTok offers to accounts with 1,000 or more followers or a registered business account. In the videos themselves, you show the product and tell viewers the link is on your profile.
Amazon allows this as long as your TikTok account is listed as a Site in your Associates account and you follow its disclosure and link rules. TikTok allows outside links on profiles too, but its Shop policy draws a hard line between Amazon promotion and TikTok Shop content. This guide covers where links can go, what each platform requires, and how to keep both accounts safe, as of 2026.
Where can you put an Amazon affiliate link on TikTok?
The only reliable clickable spot is the website field on your profile. TikTok's help center says you can add a website link if you have 1,000 followers or more, or a registered business account, and the field may not be available in every region.
Everything else is a pointer to that link, not the link itself. Here's how each place works:
| Place on TikTok | Can it carry your Amazon link? | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Profile website field | Yes, once you qualify | Make it obvious the link goes to Amazon |
| Video (on screen or spoken) | No clickable link; say "link on my profile" | Disclose in the video itself |
| Caption | Treat it as text, not a working link | Add the disclosure here too, not only here |
| Direct messages | Only if the person asked for it | Amazon allows links in DMs only when they are solicited |
| TikTok Shop videos and LIVEs | No | TikTok Shop prohibits steering viewers to outside links to buy |
If you have fewer than 1,000 followers and no registered business account, you can't add a clickable website yet. That's one reason many new creators look at TikTok's own affiliate program instead; our beginner's guide to making money on TikTok Shop explains how that in-app route works.
What does Amazon Associates require for TikTok?
Amazon treats your TikTok account like a website. Its Operating Agreement defines a Site as your website, social media user-generated content, app or Alexa skill, and the Program Policies say you must identify your Sites in your application.
The rules that matter most on TikTok, from Amazon's agreement and Program Policies (updated in April 2026 when we checked):
- List your TikTok account. Add your TikTok profile URL as a Site in Associates before you post links.
- Show the Associates statement. Amazon requires the line "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" to be clearly and prominently displayed. On TikTok, your profile and captions are the natural places.
- Keep links recognizable. Amazon prohibits using a link shortening service, button or placement in a way that makes it unclear you are linking to an Amazon site. On a link-in-bio page, label the button so people know it goes to Amazon.
- No incentives. You can't offer money, discounts, points or any other reward for using your links. "Buy through my link and I'll send you a freebie" breaks this rule.
- Prices with care. You may only show prices and availability from links Amazon serves or from its APIs. Prices on Amazon change often, so a price spoken in a video can be wrong within days; say "check the current price" instead.
- DMs only when asked. Links in emails, SMS and social media direct messages are allowed only when the recipient opted in.
Amazon's commission rates, payout thresholds and the early-account sales requirement are explained in our Amazon Associates guide. Read that before you build a TikTok strategy around a category's rate.
What do TikTok's rules say about outside links?
TikTok's Community Guidelines don't ban affiliate links on your profile, but they require you to disclose commercial content with the content disclosure setting. Commercial content that isn't disclosed that way is ineligible for the For You feed.
In other words, undisclosed promotion doesn't just risk a warning; it can quietly stop your videos from being recommended. Turn the setting on for any video that promotes products you earn from.
Two other parts of the guidelines are worth knowing:
- Multiple accounts are fine, deception is not. TikTok says you can have more than one account, but not to deceive others or break the rules, and using another account to avoid restrictions is prohibited.
- Regulated products follow stricter rules. Some product types, such as weapons, drugs and certain health products, face trade restrictions, and TikTok's definition of trade includes posting links and directing people off-platform. Don't assume a product is fine to promote just because Amazon sells it.
Can you use Amazon links and TikTok Shop at the same time?
You can run both on one account, but keep them strictly apart. TikTok Shop's "Avoid Redirecting Traffic" policy, updated in June 2026, tells Shop creators not to direct viewers to buy through private messages or third-party links.
The same policy lists what counts as redirecting: external links and websites that lead to purchases, contact information in your bio or video descriptions, QR codes, and text, voice or emoji cues pointing viewers off-platform. It also says not to tag TikTok Shop products in your videos or LIVEs if you intend viewers to buy them on another e-commerce platform. Breaking it can lead to content removal or a formal warning under the Creator Enforcement Policy.
In practice, if you're a TikTok Shop affiliate:
- Never say "or get it cheaper on Amazon" in a video where you tag a TikTok Shop product.
- Don't promote Amazon links during a shoppable LIVE.
- Keep Amazon promotion in separate, non-shoppable videos, with disclosure, if you do it at all.
- Consider a separate account for Amazon content, which TikTok's guidelines allow as long as you're not using it to dodge restrictions.
If you also sell your own products, the line is even stricter, because a shop's official account can only promote that shop's products. We compare the two TikTok Shop roles in TikTok Shop seller vs affiliate.
Amazon links or TikTok Shop affiliate: which fits a TikTok creator better?
For most TikTok-first creators, TikTok Shop's affiliate program has less friction, because the buyer taps a product tag and checks out without leaving the app. Amazon links make more sense when your audience already prefers Amazon or the product isn't sold on TikTok Shop.
| Amazon Associates on TikTok | TikTok Shop affiliate | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the link lives | Profile website field | Product tag in the video, LIVE or showcase |
| What the viewer must do | Leave the video, open your profile, tap, then shop on Amazon | Tap the tag and check out in TikTok |
| Entry point on TikTok | 1,000 followers or a registered business account for the profile link | 1,000 followers to self-apply in the US |
| Who sets the commission | Amazon, by product category | The seller, from 1% to 80% per product |
| Product range | Amazon's catalog | Products in TikTok Shop's affiliate marketplace |
| Main rules to follow | Amazon's agreement and policies, FTC, TikTok guidelines | TikTok Shop content policy, FTC, TikTok guidelines |
Each extra step between the video and the checkout loses some viewers, so a profile link usually converts fewer of them than an in-app tag. On the other hand, Amazon's catalog is far wider, and an Amazon account doesn't depend on one app's selling permissions. How do you disclose Amazon affiliate links on TikTok?
Disclose in three places: in the video, with TikTok's content disclosure setting, and with Amazon's Associates statement in your profile or caption. One label alone is not enough.
The FTC's guidance for influencers is specific about video. It says that if you make an endorsement in a video, the disclosure should be in the video and not just in the description, and that disclosures shown only on a profile page are likely to be missed. It also warns not to assume a platform's disclosure tool is enough on its own.
A simple setup that covers all three sets of rules:
- Say it. Early in the video: "I earn a commission if you buy through the Amazon link on my profile."
- Show it. On-screen text such as "#ad, Amazon affiliate link in profile."
- Toggle it. Turn on TikTok's content disclosure setting before you post.
- State it. Put "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" in your profile text or caption.
What mistakes get Amazon affiliate links or TikTok accounts in trouble?
Most problems come from small shortcuts. These are the ones the official rules above make risky:
- Posting links before listing your TikTok account as a Site in Associates.
- Hiding the destination behind a shortener or a vague "shop" button.
- Offering rewards for buying through your link, including giveaways tied to purchases.
- Quoting prices in videos that go out of date.
- Sending links in unsolicited DMs or comment replies to people who didn't ask.
- Skipping disclosure, which risks FTC problems and makes videos ineligible for the For You feed.
- Mixing Amazon and TikTok Shop in the same shoppable video or LIVE.
- Promoting restricted products just because Amazon lists them.
Rules on both sides change. Before you build a routine, reread Amazon's current agreement and policies in Associates Central and TikTok's guidelines in the app.

Frequently asked questions
Can you put Amazon affiliate links in TikTok videos?
Not as a clickable link inside the video. The practical option is the website link on your profile, which TikTok offers to accounts with 1,000 or more followers or a registered business account, and then you tell viewers in the video where to find it.
Does Amazon allow affiliate links on TikTok?
Yes. Amazon's agreement counts social media user-generated content as a Site, so you list your TikTok account in your Associates account and follow the disclosure, link and incentive rules.
Can I use a link-in-bio page for Amazon links?
Generally yes, as long as it is clear the link goes to Amazon. Amazon prohibits shorteners, buttons or placements that make it unclear you are linking to an Amazon site.
Can I promote Amazon links and be a TikTok Shop affiliate?
You can run both, but don't mix them in the same content. TikTok Shop asks creators not to direct viewers to buy through third-party links, and not to tag TikTok Shop products if they intend viewers to buy elsewhere.
Do I need to disclose Amazon links on TikTok?
Yes. Amazon requires its Associates statement, the FTC expects a clear disclosure in the video itself, and TikTok asks you to use its content disclosure setting for commercial content.
