TikTok LIVE Agencies: Should You Join One?

A TikTok LIVE agency is a Creator Network that manages LIVE creators. What agencies do, how they earn, contract red flags and how to spot agency scams.

By Updated 7 min read

Quick summary (TL;DR)

  • A TikTok LIVE agency, officially called a Creator Network, is an independent business that recruits and supports LIVE creators using TikTok's LIVE Backstage platform.
  • Creator Networks apply to TikTok with company documents and earn through TikTok's incentive programs, while TikTok says it does not endorse or take responsibility for any of them.
  • An agency can help with coaching, scheduling and campaigns, but it can't lift your follower count past TikTok's LIVE requirements or promise you a fixed income from Gifts.
  • Red flags include joining fees, requests for your password, promises of a fixed income, pressure to sign fast and contracts with no clear way out.
  • Most beginners don't need an agency; it starts to make sense once you already stream regularly and want structure.

A TikTok LIVE agency is a business that recruits LIVE creators and helps them stream more consistently, in exchange for rewards it earns from TikTok's incentive programs. TikTok officially calls a TikTok LIVE agency a Creator Network, and approved networks manage their creators through a TikTok platform called LIVE Backstage.

If you've started going LIVE, you may already have DMs from "agents" offering to sign you. Some are real Creator Networks; others are scams using the same words. This guide explains what agencies actually do, how they make money, what to check in a contract, and when joining one is worth it. Details are from TikTok's Creator Networks pages as of 2026.

What is a TikTok LIVE agency?

A TikTok LIVE agency is a company approved as a TikTok LIVE Creator Network. TikTok describes Creator Networks as business partners of TikTok LIVE that connect creators with tools, programs and growth opportunities.

Three facts from TikTok's own pages define the relationship:

  • They run on LIVE Backstage, which TikTok calls the official operation platform for Creator Networks. From it, a network can track its creators' Diamonds and active hours, analyze viewer engagement, manage contracts, and review monthly bonuses and payouts.
  • They are independent. TikTok's Creator Networks pages state that networks are independent third-party businesses operating on their own behalf, and that TikTok does not endorse, sponsor or take responsibility for their business conduct.
  • They apply as businesses. To become one, a company submits an incorporation or registration certificate, shareholding information and details of key management. TikTok says it usually reviews applications within 5 to 7 business days.

An agency mainly matters for creators who earn from LIVE Gifts. If your plan is to sell products on stream instead, you don't need one; our step-by-step TikTok Shop guide covers that route.

How do TikTok LIVE agencies make money?

Creator Networks earn mainly through TikTok's incentive programs. TikTok's FAQ says approved networks can join exclusive incentive programs for monthly bonuses, and LIVE Backstage tracks those bonuses alongside each creator's Diamonds and active hours.

That's why agencies chase active creators: the network's results depend on how much its roster streams and how engaged their audiences are.

What about your share? When viewers send Gifts, TikTok awards Diamonds to you, and you see the total in your LIVE summary, according to TikTok's Help Center. TikTok doesn't publish any standard cut that an agency takes from a creator. Whatever an agency asks of you, whether a share of earnings, minimum hours or exclusivity, comes from its own contract, not from TikTok. So the contract is the thing to read.

What does an agency actually do for a creator?

A good agency acts like a coach and operations manager. TikTok says networks get dedicated operational support, official training and performance analytics, which they're meant to pass on to their creators.

What an agency may offerWhat it can't do
Coaching on content, schedule and interactionUnlock LIVE before you meet TikTok's age and follower rules
Analytics on your streams and audiencePromise how many Gifts you'll receive
Access to LIVE events, campaigns and matches it runsOverride a violation or suspension on your account
Introductions to other creators for co-hostingMake TikTok push your LIVE to more people on request
Help with streaming setup and routinesReplace the work of streaming consistently

The invitation process TikTok describes runs in stages: the network scouts creators, sends an invitation, the creator learns about the network and decides, and onboarding follows. Networks are told to look for LIVE activeness and consistency, audience interaction and content quality, which tells you who they want: creators who already stream regularly.

Should you join a TikTok LIVE agency?

Join only if you already go LIVE regularly, earn from Gifts, and want structure, and only after reading the contract. If you're still working out how to go LIVE or haven't hit the requirements, an agency adds obligations without adding much.

When an agency can make sense

  • You stream several times a week and want feedback on what keeps viewers.
  • You'd use events, matches and co-host introductions.
  • The agency explains, in writing, what it expects and what you keep.

When to stay independent

  • You're under the LIVE requirements or just starting. Learn the basics first with our guide on how to go live on TikTok.
  • You mainly want to sell products. Agencies built around Gifts don't fit that goal; selling on TikTok Shop LIVE works without one.
  • You can't commit to a fixed number of hours.

Example (hypothetical): an agency asks you to stream 40 hours a month. If you work a day job and can stream four evenings a week for 90 minutes, that's about 24 hours a month, so you'd miss the target from day one. Do that math before you sign.

How do you spot a TikTok LIVE agency scam?

The clearest sign of a scam is a request for money or your login. Real Creator Networks earn through TikTok's programs, so there's no reason to charge you to join.

Watch for these red flags:

  • Joining, training or "activation" fees. The FTC's guidance on job scams is that honest employers don't ask you to pay to get a job, and the same logic applies here.
  • Requests for your password or verification codes. Nobody managing your LIVE needs them, and handing them over can cost you the account.
  • Promises of a fixed income. Gifts depend on viewers choosing to spend. No one can promise a monthly amount.
  • Claims to "unlock LIVE" or to work for TikTok. Networks are independent businesses, and LIVE eligibility is set by TikTok's rules.
  • Pressure to sign today, or a contract you're not allowed to keep a copy of.
  • Moving everything off TikTok to a Google Form or messaging app before you've confirmed who they are.

To check an offer, ask for the company's registered name and confirm it has a website and contact details you can verify. Then search that name alongside "complaints" before you agree to anything. The same habits help with fake brand and affiliate offers; see how to spot TikTok Shop scams.

What should you check in an agency contract?

Read every term about money, time, exclusivity and leaving. If an agency won't put its promises in writing, treat the promises as not made.

Contract termWhat to look forRed flag
EarningsExactly what share, if any, the agency takes and how it's paidVague wording, or a share of everything you earn anywhere
HoursMinimum streaming hours or days per monthTargets you can't hit, with penalties
LengthContract term and renewalAutomatic renewal you can't stop
ExitHow and when you can leaveNo exit clause, or a fee to leave
ExclusivityWhether you can stream elsewhere or work with brandsClaims on your other platforms or your content
Account controlWho logs in and postsAny requirement to share your password

If the contract is long or involves real money, a short consultation with a lawyer in your country is cheap compared with being locked into a bad deal.

Questions to ask before you join

Send these in writing and keep the answers:

  1. What is your company's registered name, and where is it registered?
  2. Exactly what do you take from my earnings, if anything, and how is it calculated?
  3. How many hours or days a month do you expect me to stream?
  4. What support will I actually get each month, and from whom?
  5. How do I leave, and what happens if I do?

A real Creator Network should be able to answer all five clearly. Vague replies, or a push to "just accept the invite and we'll explain later", tell you what working with them would be like.

Next steps

Get comfortable going LIVE on your own first. Once you stream regularly and understand your numbers, an agency invitation becomes something you can judge on facts, not hope.

Frequently asked questions

Do TikTok LIVE agencies take your Diamonds?

TikTok doesn't publish a standard split between creators and agencies. Gifts become Diamonds in the creator's own LIVE summary, and Creator Networks earn through TikTok's incentive programs, so read any contract that asks you to share your earnings very carefully.

Is a TikTok LIVE agency official?

Creator Networks are business partners approved by TikTok LIVE and use its LIVE Backstage platform, but TikTok describes them as independent third-party businesses it doesn't endorse or take responsibility for.

Do you need an agency to go LIVE on TikTok?

No. Going LIVE depends on TikTok's own requirements: being at least 18, having enough followers for your region and keeping your account in good standing. An agency can't unlock LIVE for you.

Should you pay to join a TikTok LIVE agency?

No. A joining, training or activation fee is a strong scam signal. The FTC's general rule for work offers is that honest employers don't ask you to pay to get a job.

How do you start a TikTok LIVE agency?

You create an account on LIVE Backstage and apply as a business, with your incorporation or registration certificate, shareholding information and key personnel details. TikTok says a review usually takes 5 to 7 business days.
